Our history

Grown with the park

Since opening in 2011, Giba Storage has grown to keep pace with increasing demand for secure self-storage in Westmead and the greater Durban area.

The facility sits inside Giba Business Park, just off the M13 corridor between Pinetown and Hillcrest. That location is deliberate: it puts storage within easy reach of Westmead's industrial and commercial tenants, of Westville and Kloof households, and of the Upper Highway area — while remaining part of a managed, controlled property rather than an anonymous yard.

As the business park has developed, so has the storage offering. Five unit sizes now cover everything from a handful of household boxes through to serious commercial stockholding, with the same security posture applied across the whole site: 24-hour guarding linked to armed response, and electric perimeter fencing around the units.

Giba Storage forms part of the wider Giba environment — the same property family as Giba Gorge, where mountain-bike trails, indigenous vegetation and commercial tenants share one piece of KwaZulu-Natal.

Giba Goes Green

Part of something bigger.

Giba Storage forms part of the broader Giba environment — a property ecosystem where business, recreation and environmental responsibility coexist. The same grounds that host Giba Gorge's trails and indigenous vegetation host the business park your belongings are stored in.

It's a quieter kind of value: a facility that sits inside a managed, cared-for landscape rather than an anonymous industrial yard.
